Open it for the latest instructions, supported platforms, and project updates. See [release history](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/releases) for published versions. **BabelBird Project Cloud Sync is an application of MCP: it saves an agent's local project folder to the cloud so you can continue on another device or agent platform.** It uses BabelBird MCP to transfer files. MCP supplies file-access tools; the plugin and its Skills define the folder binding, sync workflow, updates, and conflict handling. Connecting MCP alone does not enable automatic project sync. | Option | Purpose | Automatic project sync | | --- | --- | --- | | BabelBird MCP connection | Search, read, upload, or download files when requested | Does not bind or sync a local folder by itself | | Project Cloud Sync plugin | Bind a local project to one BabelBird folder and keep it updated during agent tasks | Runs after you enable sync and the host loads its rules | | Included Skills | Guide account setup, project binding, restoration, and conflict handling | Require authenticated MCP, file access, and a supported execution environment | ## When to Use It - **Save project work:** keep eligible code, documents, and other project files in BabelBird after the agent makes changes. - **Continue on a new computer:** connect the same account, select the existing cloud project, restore it into a new local folder, and continue editing. - **Switch agents:** continue a Codex project in WorkBuddy or another adapted host using the same cloud folder. - **Keep file-based AI memory:** save project notes, task records, instructions, and memory written into eligible project files so a new agent can read the project's background. “AI local memory” here means content saved in project files and included by the sync rules. It does not automatically migrate chat history, transient model context, application-private databases, or memory outside the project. You may need to ask the new agent to read the restored files. Git ignore and file exclusions still apply; account credentials are not synced with projects. ## Get Started: Install, Enter Your Key, Enable Sync 1. Send the installation request below to your current agent. It handles Skill locations and configuration. 2. In BabelBird Settings > API Keys (设置 > API秘钥), prepare an API Key with **Full access (完整)** and metadata/content read and write permissions. Paste it into the local setup page and select **Save and connect**. If it does not open, use the agent's setup link. Check these permissions when reusing an existing connection as well. See the [BabelBird MCP API Key instructions](https://www.babel.cc/public/babelwiki/en/mcp-integration.html#1-create-a-dedicated-api-key) to get a key. 3. After the connection check passes, ask the agent to enable sync in the local project you want to save. Account setup alone does not bind or upload a project. ```text Install this plugin and connect my BabelBird account: https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins ``` ```text Enable BabelBird automatic sync for this project. Pull updates before editing and upload after each completed batch. Check sync status before finishing. ``` The local page is for the six desktop/CLI hosts listed below. It requires Node.js 20+ and a browser on the same machine as the setup helper; the agent checks prerequisites. Enter the key only in the password field, not chat. WorkBuddy requires you to approve third-party MCP permissions in its app. If asked to reopen the session to load the connection, reuse the saved key. New projects default to `个人文件///` (Personal Files), such as `个人文件/codex//` or `个人文件/workbuddy//`. **The plugin and its Skills require an MCP API Key with Full access and metadata/content read and write permissions. Application-folder access is not supported for this workflow.** The account must also have access to Personal Files and the intended project. Existing bindings and explicitly chosen cloud folders take precedence, but the same authorization requirements still apply. Sync runs during agent work: before editing, after completed batches, and before finishing. It is not a background watcher when the app is closed or a mounted cloud drive. Files retain their names and directory structure; projects are not zipped. Concurrent changes are preserved as conflicts, and deletions do not propagate automatically. ## Switch Devices or Agents Finish syncing on the original device. Install and connect on the new device or agent, then send: ```text Continue the project in “个人文件/codex/Website Redesign”. Restore it into a new local folder and keep the same cloud binding. Do not create another cloud copy. Report existing local files or conflicts before proceeding. ``` Replace the example with your actual cloud path. Then ask the agent to read the project's notes and memory files before starting. The destination agent still needs access to the local folder and the ability to run the sync Skill. ## Platforms Supported by the Plugin The following describes **v0.5.1, a GitHub prerelease**. An installation adapter is not proof that every client version has passed end-to-end testing. GitHub installation provides a Skills + MCP bundle; a marketplace listing is not required. | Platform | Adapter status | API Key entry | Validation and limits | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Codex | Implemented | Automatic local setup page | Clean installation session, form entry, and actual directory calls after reopening passed | | WorkBuddy | Implemented | Automatic local setup page | Page, cloud directory checks, and bundled CLI connection passed; full desktop conversation and approval flow remain unverified | | CodeBuddy CLI | Implemented | Automatic local setup page | Installation/configuration checks passed; standalone client end-to-end test pending | | Claude Code | Implemented | Automatic local setup page | Installation/configuration checks passed; client end-to-end test pending | | Cursor | Implemented | Automatic local setup page | Installation/configuration checks passed; client end-to-end test pending | | Gemini CLI | Implemented | Automatic local setup page | Installation/configuration checks passed; client end-to-end test pending | | Today China | Experimental | Manual configuration import, then the platform Token field | Skills and Connected status observed; project sync and cross-session triggers unverified | | Today international | Experimental | Requires verification of the account's credential UI | Signed-in installation and connection have not passed acceptance | | Meta Muse personal agent | Experimental | Platform credential UI and connector capabilities require verification | Credential flow, connector bridge, and project sync unverified; not Muse Code | OpenClaw, VS Code / GitHub Copilot, Cline, Roo Code, OpenCode, Windsurf, and Devin do not yet have installation adapters in this plugin. MCP compatibility does not by itself imply project-sync compatibility. Real system testing is recorded for macOS; Windows/Linux system acceptance is pending. See the maintained [support matrix](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/blob/main/docs/SUPPORTED_AGENTS.md) and [validation record](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/blob/main/VALIDATION.md). ## First-Time Connection in Today Today does not currently open the key form automatically after installation. Ask Today to install the plugin, then open [Connected apps on the China site](https://todayai.cn/connectors) with the same account as your client: 1. Select **Add custom MCP → Add by pasting code** (添加自定义 MCP → 粘贴代码添加) and paste the [configuration template](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/blob/v0.5.1/plugins/babelbird-cloud/skills/babelbird-setup/references/today-mcp-template.json) without changing its placeholder. 2. Read and acknowledge the notice, then select **Next**. Clear the Token field, paste the raw APIKey without `Bearer `, and select **Add**. 3. Return to Today and ask it to read Personal Files and list one page to check the connection, without querying quota or uploading files. Connected status alone does not replace this directory check. See the [Today guide](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/blob/main/plugins/babelbird-cloud/skills/babelbird-setup/references/today-setup.md#english) for full instructions and recovery if the form closes. Today can sync only accessible workspace files; its cloud workspace is not the same as your computer's local folder. ## Downloads and Separate Skill Installation | Resource | Purpose | | --- | --- | | [GitHub repository](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins) | Give the link to your agent with the install request | | [v0.5.1 release](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/releases/tag/v0.5.1) | Release notes and source downloads | | [Download v0.5.1 source ZIP](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/archive/refs/tags/v0.5.1.zip) | Offline or manual installation; this archive contains the plugin, not your synced project | | [Setup Skill: babelbird-setup](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/tree/v0.5.1/plugins/babelbird-cloud/skills/babelbird-setup) | Set up credentials, present the form, and check connectivity | | [Sync Skill: babelbird-project-cloud](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/tree/v0.5.1/plugins/babelbird-cloud/skills/babelbird-project-cloud) | Bind or restore projects, transfer updates, and handle conflicts | | [Getting started and use cases](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/blob/main/docs/GETTING_STARTED.md#english) | Saving work, changing devices or agents, and file-based memory | The default installer already installs both Skills. For separate installation, import both complete folders from `plugins/babelbird-cloud/skills/` in the download, preserving scripts, assets, and references; copying only `SKILL.md` is insufficient. Let the host agent confirm its actual Skill location and reuse authenticated MCP. Then ask “Check my BabelBird connection” or “Enable BabelBird sync for this project.” ## FAQ ### Does connecting MCP automatically sync my project? No. MCP provides file-operation tools. The plugin and Skills bind a directory and schedule pulls and uploads. After installation and account setup, ask the agent to enable BabelBird automatic sync in the intended project. ### Where do I enter my API Key? What if the setup page does not open? Adapted desktop/CLI hosts open a local setup page. Enter the key in its password field and select Save and connect. If it does not open, use the agent's setup link or ask it to reopen the page. The browser and helper must run on the same computer. Today uses its own Token field for the first connection; follow the instructions on this page. Do not send the key in chat. ### Where are projects saved by default? New projects use Personal Files//, for example 个人文件/codex/Website Redesign/ or 个人文件/workbuddy/Website Redesign/. An existing binding or explicitly selected cloud folder takes precedence. The API Key must have Full access and file read/write permissions, and the account itself must have access to the destination. ### Which MCP permissions do the project-sync plugin and Skills need? {#faq-sync-mcp-permissions} In BabelBird Settings > API Keys (设置 > API秘钥), select **Full access (完整)** for the application and enable `files.metadata.read`, `files.metadata.write`, `files.content.read` and `files.content.write`. Application-folder access or read-only permissions do not meet the requirements for pulling files, creating folders and uploading updates. Enter a key with these permissions in the plugin setup page, then perform a read-only connection check on Personal Files. Full access covers only files the account already has permission to access; it does not grant enterprise-wide administrator rights. ### When does sync run? Does it continue after the agent closes? In an agent task with sync enabled and its rules loaded, it pulls before editing, uploads after completed batches, and checks status before finishing. It does not keep watching after the app closes or mount the cloud folder as a drive. Ask the agent to report downloads, uploads and failures to confirm the outcome. ### How do I continue the same project on another device or agent? Finish syncing on the original device. Install and connect the same account on the new device, then explicitly select the original cloud project folder. Restore it into a new local directory and keep that binding instead of creating another cloud copy. Ask the new agent to read the project's notes and memory files before working. ### Does it save chats, all AI memory and every file on my computer? It syncs eligible files in a bound project only. Project notes, task records and memory written to files can be included. Chat history, transient model context, application-private databases and files outside the project are not automatically migrated. File exclusions still apply, and account credentials are not synced with projects. ### What happens if two devices edit the same file or a file is deleted? Concurrent changes are preserved as conflicts rather than overwritten, and deletions do not propagate automatically. Ask the agent to report conflicts and both versions before deciding what to keep. Pull before starting work and finish uploading before switching devices to reduce conflicts. ### Do Today and WorkBuddy use the same setup flow? No. WorkBuddy has a local setup-page adapter, but its full desktop conversation and approval flow remain unverified. Today China currently requires manual MCP configuration import and key entry in its Token field. Connected status must be followed by an actual directory read. See the support matrix on this page: MCP compatibility is not proof of verified project sync. ### Where can I download the plugin and see updates? Open the [GitHub repository](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins) for current instructions and support information, and [release history](https://github.com/bypassdesign-dev/babelbird-plugins/releases) for published versions. You can also give the repository link to your agent and ask it to install the plugin and open the API Key setup page. ## Related Information - [BabelBird MCP: capabilities, setup, and usage](https://www.babel.cc/public/babelwiki/en/mcp-integration.html) - [Zhichao AI Overview](https://www.babel.cc/public/babelwiki/en/ai-overview.html)
